DIMENSIONS

Florence Knoll studied architecture at Cranbrook in London, she collaborated on projects with Bauhaus head designer Walter Gropius, Marcel Breuer and Wallace Harrison.
She was obviously very influenced by the Bauhaus, and this can be clearly seen in her minimalist approach to tables, seating and other designs.
Florence Knoll changed the American workspace with her philosophy of “total design.” Knoll integrated the architecture, interior design and textiles as one design. This philosophy was also applied to space saving techniques for offices, which is still used today. Florence Knoll is one of America’s most important and influential designers. Over the course of her distinguished career, she has made countless contributions to architecture and interior design, and as such she will hold her own place in design history.
